A New Leadership Team for a Stronger Journalism Community
The Pakistan Press Club UK International has entered a new chapter following the election of its leadership team for 2026–27, bringing together experienced Pakistani journalists working across television, digital media and other platforms in the United Kingdom.
The newly elected team is led by Azhar Javaid as Chairman, with Haseeb Arsalan as Vice Chairman and Shaukat Dar as President. The wider leadership includes Irfan ul Haq as Senior Vice President, Nasim Siddiqi as Vice President, Safina Khan as General Secretary, Syed Sibtain Ali as Information Secretary, Amna Chaudhry as Joint Secretary, Zulfiqar Ali as Additional Secretary and Pervez Iqbal as Finance Secretary.
The election comes at an important time for journalism. The media industry is changing rapidly, with traditional broadcasting increasingly operating alongside digital platforms, social media and new forms of online storytelling. For journalists working abroad, maintaining professional networks and a strong connection with the wider media community is increasingly important.
According to reports following the election, the new leadership has pledged to strengthen professional journalism, uphold journalistic values and promote unity among Pakistani journalists in the UK. The organisation also aims to enhance cooperation and professional networking among media professionals across Britain.
One of the key themes emerging from the new leadership is the importance of representing Pakistan responsibly on the international stage. Chairman Azhar Javaid has emphasised professional and ethical journalism, balanced coverage and stronger unity among Pakistani journalists. Other members of the leadership have highlighted the importance of projecting a positive image of Pakistan and maintaining constructive engagement with the Pakistani diaspora.
The organisation has been active for more than a decade, providing Pakistani journalists in the UK with a platform for professional collaboration, networking and engagement on issues affecting the media fraternity.
The new team therefore takes charge with responsibilities that extend beyond organisational administration. Its role includes bringing journalists together, encouraging professional standards and creating opportunities for dialogue between media professionals and the wider Pakistani community.
The Pakistan Press Club UK International’s new leadership also has an opportunity to strengthen the relationship between journalists, community organisations and institutions in both Pakistan and the United Kingdom.
As the 2026–27 term begins, the focus is clear: stronger professional relationships, responsible journalism, ethical reporting and a united media community.
The new leadership marks not simply a change in office bearers, but an opportunity to build on the organisation’s established role and develop a stronger platform for Pakistani journalists across the UK.
A stronger media community begins with journalists working together — and the new Pakistan Press Club UK International leadership has set that direction for the year ahead.
